FAQ

1. What is TRT, and who needs it?

Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) is a treatment designed for men diagnosed with hypogonadism, or low testosterone. Symptoms such as fatigue, low libido, mood swings, and reduced quality of life often indicate the need for TRT, particularly when supported with low serum testosterone levels. At EliteTRT, our doctors conduct thorough assessments, including mandatory bloodwork and comprehensive health questionnaires, to ensure that TRT safely and effectively improves testosterone levels to a therapeutic range while addressing your symptoms.

EliteTRT treatment options include commercially available TGA-approved testosterone injections, plus other modalities tailored to your needs. Injections, typically microdosed at least 2–3 times per week, provide stable hormone levels and are the most common option. Our medical team will guide you to the best choice for your lifestyle and health goals.

TRT is generally a long-term therapy, as the body’s natural testosterone production decreases once treatment begins. However, with proper monitoring, including our quarterly Elite 3 Panel ensures your treatment remains effective and safe. For patients concerned about fertility, we provide additional support to  help maintain reproductive health.

Potential side effects include water retention, mood swings, and skin changes like acne. In some cases, preexisting gynecomastia may worsen, but it can be managed with minimum effective dosages, injection frequency and lifestyle adjustments. At EliteTRT, we proactively monitor your health through regular bloodwork and personalised adjustments to mitigate risks while optimising your results.

Yes, EliteTRT allows you to self-fulfil your prescription through your local pharmacy. Alternatively, we partner with trusted compounding pharmacies to provide high-quality, commercially available TGA-approved medications at no markup. Prescriptions are issued for a three-month supply.

Most men experience noticeable improvements in energy, mood, and focus within 2–4 weeks. For more pronounced benefits, such as changes in body composition and strength, 3–6 months of consistent treatment may be required. EliteTRT ensures your progress is closely monitored and adjustments are made to optimise your outcomes.

For most patients, treatment is initially reviewed every 3 months. This includes a Telehealth consultation with the doctor, bloodwork review, rescript (if clinically appropriate) and ongoing monitoring to ensure treatment remains safe and effective.

For men who have been on treatment for 12+ months with stable, therapeutic biomarkers and consistent adherence (whether treated with us or transferring from another clinic), our doctors may assess suitability for extended review intervals, such as every 4 months.

If deemed appropriate, patients will consult with the doctor every 4 months and be provided with 4 months’ worth of medication. This is always determined case-by-case and reviewed at each consultation to ensure it remains clinically appropriate. If required, patients may be returned to more frequent reviews (e.g. every 3 months).

Where appropriate, extended review intervals may result in fewer consultations and reduced bloodwork requirements, which can lower annual costs by up to approximately $520.

At EliteTRT, we are committed to providing transparent and high-quality care while ensuring affordability and flexibility for our patients.

  • Quarterly Fee: $360 – which includes our admin service/support fee, 1 x 15-min Telehealth doctors’ appointment and provision of eScript(s).

For men who have been on treatment for 12+ months with stable biomarkers and consistent adherence (whether transferring care or treated within our clinic), our doctors may assess suitability for less frequent reviews, such as every 4 months. This is determined on a case-by-case basis and reassessed at each review to ensure it remains clinically appropriate. Where suitable, this may reduce consultations to three per year, resulting in lower overall costs and fewer bloodwork requirements. However, more frequent reviews (e.g. every 3 months) may still be required if clinically indicated based on bloodwork or treatment adherence.

Medication Costs and Script Fulfillment Options:

EliteTRT offers unparalleled flexibility with medication fulfillment:

  • Self-Script Fulfilment: Patients can fulfil prescriptions at their local pharmacy, ensuring convenient year-round access, avoiding shipping delays, and eliminating the risk of running out of medication.
  • Partner Pharmacy Fulfilment: Alternatively, patients may fulfil prescriptions through one of our trusted partner pharmacies. All medications are TGA-Approved and commercially available. Medication costs are approximately $20 per 1mL Testosterone. EliteTRT applies no markups – patients pay exactly what the pharmacy charges.
  • Average annual costs including EliteTRT’s service fee, doctors’ fees (3-4 x 15-minute Telehealth consultations), eScript(s) provision, and medication are approximately $1,560-$1,920, depending on review frequency (quarterly or 4-monthly, as determined by the reviewing doctor). Medication costs typically remain around $120 every 3-4 months (approximately $360–$480 annually), depending on the prescribed protocol and pharmacy.

Yes, EliteTRT facilitates transfer of care for men currently undergoing TRT, provided sufficient clinical information is available for review.

To begin the process, you will be asked to provide:

Pre-TRT bloodwork

Confirmation of diagnosis and current treatment plan (e.g. clinic summary, travel letter, or medication/pharmacy labels showing prescribing doctor, patient name, dosage, and medication)

Intra-treatment bloodwork to demonstrate response to treatment (particularly over the past 12 months, if applicable)

Recent bloodwork (Elite 3 bloodwork or equivalent from within the last 3 months), including key androgen markers

Once this information is gathered, you can complete our online health questionnaire. From there, our team will review your submission and confirm whether you are suitable to proceed with a consultation with one of our doctors to assess a potential transfer of care.

EliteTRT ensures the transfer process is smooth while prioritising safety, compliance, and continuity of care. But that’s not all—our standout differences include:

  • Transparent Pricing: We offer annual fees that can be conveniently split into quarterly payment options for greater flexibility.
  • Self-Fulfilment Option: Patients can fulfil their prescriptions at a pharmacy of their choice, ensuring convenience and transparency with no hidden markups.
