FAQ

1. What is Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)?

Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) is a prescription treatment that may be considered for some men with clinically confirmed Testosterone deficiency. Determining whether TRT is clinically appropriate requires consideration of symptoms, blood test results, medical history, and other relevant health factors.

At EliteTRT, our doctors conduct comprehensive assessments, including bloodwork and health questionnaires, before making treatment decisions. Where treatment is prescribed, patients undergo ongoing monitoring and regular review consultations.

Treatment options prescribed through our clinic may include commercially available, TGA-approved Testosterone medications, including injectable preparations. The prescribing doctor will discuss available treatment options, administration methods, and monitoring requirements during your consultation.

Treatment decisions are made on an individual basis following a comprehensive clinical assessment.

TRT is often prescribed as an ongoing treatment. Treatment duration varies between individuals and should be discussed with the prescribing doctor as part of the assessment and consent process.

Patients prescribed TRT through our clinic undergo regular monitoring, including bloodwork and review consultations, to assist the prescribing doctor in assessing ongoing treatment requirements.

Men with fertility considerations should discuss these with their doctor during the assessment process so they can be considered as part of treatment planning.

As with any prescription medication, TRT may be associated with potential risks and side effects. Examples may include fluid retention, skin changes, and changes in relevant health markers. Potential risks and side effects should be discussed with the prescribing doctor as part of the assessment and consent process.

Patients prescribed TRT through our clinic undergo regular monitoring, including bloodwork and review consultations, to support ongoing clinical review.

Where a prescription is issued, patients may choose to have it dispensed through their local pharmacy or through one of our partnered pharmacies.

Our doctors prescribe commercially available medications registered for use in Australia, where clinically appropriate. EliteTRT does not apply additional markups to medications supplied through partnered pharmacies.

Prescription quantities and refill requirements are determined by the prescribing doctor and may vary depending on individual clinical circumstances.

Individual responses to TRT vary, and there is no set timeframe that applies to every patient. The prescribing doctor will discuss treatment expectations, monitoring requirements, and follow-up arrangements as part of the assessment and consent process.

Patients prescribed TRT through our clinic undergo regular review consultations and bloodwork monitoring to support ongoing clinical assessment.

For most patients, treatment is initially reviewed after three months. This generally includes a Telehealth consultation with the prescribing doctor, review of bloodwork, prescription renewal where clinically appropriate, and ongoing monitoring.

For men who have been stable on treatment for an extended period, including patients continuing treatment through our clinic or transferring from another provider, the prescribing doctor may consider longer review intervals, such as every four months. This is determined on an individual basis and reviewed at each consultation.

Where longer review intervals are approved, patients may be reviewed every four months and prescribed medication in accordance with the doctor’s clinical assessment. If required, patients may be returned to more frequent review intervals, such as every three months.

Review schedules, monitoring requirements, and prescription quantities are determined by the prescribing doctor based on each patient’s individual clinical circumstances.

At EliteTRT, we are committed to providing transparent information about our services, fees, and treatment process.

Quarterly Review Fee: $360

Includes:
• Administrative support during the review period
• 1 x 15-minute Telehealth consultation with a prescribing doctor
• Provision of eScript(s), where prescribed
• Provision of a pathology referral for ongoing monitoring

For men who have been on treatment for 12+ months with stable monitoring results and consistent adherence (whether transferring care or treated within our clinic), the prescribing doctor may assess suitability for longer review intervals, such as every 4 months. This is determined on a case-by-case basis and reviewed at each consultation. Where approved, patients may be reviewed three times per year rather than four. More frequent reviews may still be required where clinically indicated.

Medication Costs and Prescription Dispensing Options

EliteTRT offers flexibility regarding where prescriptions are dispensed.

Self-Dispensing Through a Local Pharmacy:
Patients may choose to have their prescription dispensed through their local pharmacy.

Partner Pharmacy Dispensing:
Alternatively, patients may choose to have their prescription dispensed through one of our partnered pharmacies. Our doctors prescribe commercially available, TGA-approved medications. EliteTRT does not apply additional markups to medications supplied through partnered pharmacies.

Medication costs are typically approximately $20 per 1 mL Testosterone preparation, depending on the prescribed medication and dispensing pharmacy.

Typical annual costs, including EliteTRT review fees, Telehealth consultations, eScript provision, and medication costs, generally range between approximately $1,560–$1,920, depending on review frequency and individual treatment requirements.

Yes. EliteTRT accepts transfer-of-care requests for men currently undergoing TRT, provided sufficient clinical information is available for review.

To begin the process, you may be asked to provide:

• Pre-TRT bloodwork and supporting clinical information relating to your original diagnosis and treatment commencement.
• Information regarding your current treatment, such as a clinic summary, treatment correspondence, travel letter, or pharmacy labels showing the prescribed medication, dosage, prescribing doctor, and patient details.
• Recent bloodwork demonstrating treatment monitoring, including results from the past 12 months where available.
• Current bloodwork, such as an Elite 3 bloodwork or Roidsafe panel (or equivalent pathology) completed within the last few months.

Once this information has been gathered, you can complete our online health questionnaire.

Our team will then review the information provided and advise whether there is sufficient information available for one of our prescribing doctors to conduct a clinical assessment regarding transfer of care. Any treatment decisions remain at the discretion of the prescribing doctor following review of the individual’s clinical circumstances.

EliteTRT provides doctor-led assessment, treatment, and ongoing monitoring for men with clinically confirmed Testosterone deficiency where treatment is considered appropriate by the prescribing doctor.

Key features of our service include:

• Transparent pricing, with fees outlined prior to commencing the assessment process.

• Choice of dispensing pharmacy. Where a prescription is issued, patients may choose to have it dispensed through their local pharmacy or through one of our partnered pharmacies. EliteTRT does not apply additional markups to medications supplied through partnered pharmacies.

• Ongoing communication from our administrative team regarding appointments, pathology referrals, and review scheduling.

Yes.

Following review consultations, the doctor prepares and provides a pathology referral for the patient’s next scheduled review blood work.

Patients can then attend the pathology collection centre specified on the referral (such as ACL, QML or Laverty) approximately 10–14 weeks later depending on their treatment and review schedule.

Pathology referrals are currently available for existing patients under ongoing care with our clinic and are not provided prior to onboarding or prior to initial consultations.

Pathology referrals are prepared and provided following your review consultation and are intended for your next monitoring period prior to your following review appointment.

If you are currently mid-review cycle and not yet due for your next consultation, external providers such as Roidsafe or iMedical may still be utilised in the meantime where appropriate.

We currently utilise select pathology collection providers across Australia, including Australian Clinical Labs (ACL), QML and Laverty.

The most appropriate pathology provider will generally be determined based on your location and treatment monitoring requirements.

At this stage, pathology referrals for ongoing monitoring are incorporated into our service at no additional charge to existing patients.

While many standard pathology markers may be eligible for Medicare subsidies where clinically appropriate, Medicare coverage cannot be guaranteed for all biomarkers or monitoring panels requested.

In most cases, pathology results are returned directly to the doctor’s portal for clinical review and ongoing treatment monitoring.

If you would like a copy of your pathology results once they have been received and reviewed, you are more than welcome to request them from our team and we’ll be happy to provide them via email.

While our team review all cases thoroughly, eligibility for treatment is determined solely by the prescribing doctor. If, for any reason, you’re deemed ineligible, all fees will be refunded excluding the doctors time ($120 for 15-min consults, $240 for 30-min consults), which covers the consultation and review of your results and history. This refund policy also applies if you change your mind and do not wish to proceed following the consultation *please note – if medication has been prescribed – the refund policy no longer applies.

Before prescribing, patients must be up to date with appropriate screening.

This includes:

  • A Cervical Screening Test (CST) within the past 5 years
  • A mammogram completed within the past 2 years

Consultation may proceed without uploaded screening results; however, prescriptions cannot be issued until required screening documentation has been reviewed.

The prescribing doctor may request additional investigations where clinically indicated based on your individual risk profile.

This applies to both initial and ongoing reviews.

The general review structure is:

  • Initial consultation
